Update Your Game on Oppai Launcher

Use Oppai CLI to update an existing game build on Oppai Launcher.

If you previously uploaded your game using the sync command and saved a mapping file, you can reuse that mapping file to update your game.

Oppai CLI compares your local build with the files already stored on Oppai and uploads only the files that have changed.

Prerequisites

Before updating your game, make sure you have:

  • A game build that was previously uploaded using Oppai CLI
  • A saved mapping file from the previous upload
  • The updated game files in the same folder used when the mapping file was created
  • The latest version of Oppai CLI
warning

The mapping file is associated with the build folder used when it was created.

Keep your build in the same location and avoid moving or renaming the folder. Otherwise, Oppai CLI may not be able to correctly compare your local files with the previous build.

If you haven't uploaded your game yet or don't have a mapping file, follow:

Using your mapping file

There are two ways to use a saved mapping file:

  • Interactive mode — recommended for most users
  • Command-line mode — useful for automation and scripts

The interactive mode allows you to review your previous upload configuration before starting the update.

The command-line mode allows you to load a specific mapping file directly, which can be useful when automating uploads with shell scripts or other tools.

Updating your game using interactive mode

1. Start Oppai CLI

Open a terminal in the folder containing the Oppai CLI executable.

Then run the sync command using the executable for your operating system.

Windows

.\oppaicli.exe sync

macOS, Linux

./oppaicli sync

Note: The executable name may be different depending on the version you downloaded. Use the actual executable filename included with your Oppai CLI download.

If you need help opening a terminal in the correct folder, follow:

How to open a terminal in the Oppai CLI folder

2. Select your mapping file

Oppai CLI will display the mapping files available on your computer.

Select the mapping file you created when you originally uploaded the game.

The mapping file contains the configuration used for the previous upload, including the game, depot, build folder, platforms, and other settings.

3. Review the configuration

Because the mapping file already contains your previous configuration, Oppai CLI will load the information automatically.

Review the displayed settings and make sure everything is correct.

In particular, verify that:

  • The correct game is selected
  • The correct depot is selected
  • The build folder is correct
  • The supported platforms are correct
  • The entry points are correct

4. Start the update

Once everything is correct, confirm the upload.

Oppai CLI will compare your local build with the version already stored on Oppai.

Only new and modified files will be uploaded.

This makes subsequent updates significantly faster than uploading the entire game again.

5. Confirm the update

When the sync finishes successfully, your game build has been updated on Oppai Launcher.

Updating your game using the command line

You can also load a mapping file directly from the command line.

This is especially useful if you want to automate your uploads using shell scripts, CI/CD pipelines, or other automation tools.

1. Open a terminal

Open a terminal in the folder containing the Oppai CLI executable.

Windows

.\oppaicli.exe sync-cmd -L <your_map_file_name>

macOS, Linux

./oppaicli sync-cmd -L <your_map_file_name>

Replace <your_map_file_name> with the name of the mapping file you want to use.

For example:

./oppaicli-macos sync-cmd -L my-game-map

Note: The executable name may be different depending on the version you downloaded. Use the actual executable filename included with your Oppai CLI download.

Command-line options

The sync-cmd command supports the following options:

  • -L / --load-map — Specifies the mapping file to load. This option is required.
  • -F / --force — Forces all files to be uploaded again, including files that have not changed.

For example, to force a complete re-upload:

Windows

.\oppaicli.exe sync-cmd -L <your_map_file_name> -F

macOS

./oppaicli-macos sync-cmd -L <your_map_file_name> -F

Linux

./oppaicli-linux sync-cmd -L <your_map_file_name> -F

Updating your build

Your typical update workflow is:

Update your game
↓
Build the new version
↓
Keep the build in the same folder
↓
Load your existing mapping file
↓
Review the configuration
↓
Start the sync
↓
Only changed files are uploaded

Once the sync finishes successfully, the new version of your game is available on Oppai Launcher.
